West coast vibes, East coast attitudes . . . CIVILIANSOUND! (Michael Fraher) is a Producer, DJ, Multi-instrumentalist, and veteran of the stage. Performing large festivals to one off warehouse parties, Fraher has always separated himself from the herd with diverse music selections, multi-genre sets, effortless execution, and the ability to delve into new sonic regions otherwise left untouched. With his debut release on Dubs Alive, the CIVILIZE EP is an international communication pushing boundaries and transcending hemispheres. With a dance-floor mentality, Fraher taps into the inherent energy of the Dub culture, and provides a unique and positively emotive aural experience. The CIVILIZE EP is a rich tapestry woven to highlight the percussive power, and tribal elements inherent in the deepest of Dubstep.

An epic lead and razor-sharp drums conspire to bring forth a tidal wave of sound in this decidedly Infamous introductory statement. Purist - deep bass swells, haunting bells, and intricate, complimentary percussive elements swoon the listener into the cool vibe of CIVILIANSOUND!
Already D e a d boasts an anxious and diffused melody diverging down into the depths of the collective conscience. The percussive nuances, driving elements, and colorful phrasing elevate the listener to another space and time. A platform of deep bass and kick support the delicate contrast between the melody lines, creating a palpable tension throughout the flow of this rhythmically driven, unstoppable force that will be sure to keep you moving.

Digging deep into the human experience, CIVILIANSOUND! has unburied Mecca. Weaving together Afro-Cuban and West African percussion layers, the foundation is set to take the listener on an epic journey. The tension of complex yet minimalist percussion, highlights and magnifies the tasteful dub excursions which accent the work. Bringing unity, Mecca is bathed in traditional yet dramatic Middle Eastern vocals, beautifully expressing the oneness that can be found in all music. This tune definitively commands the attention of the people.

Call Response infuses a more traditionally live feel into the context of electronic dance music. Working in tandem to create a clear emotional response, the implementation of traditional African vocals seem to literally ‘call and respond’ to the rest of the ‘musicians.’ The inspired rock- infused groove - a la deep sine bass, driving guitar stabs, djembe & shakers, and a heavy dub kit - presents a fresh approach to music for the clubs.
Selecta reminds us how sexy sounds. With sweeping pads, subtle guitar licks, stabs and slumping bass, the sultry hook effortlessly soars above the unwavering and relentless bass and drums, which take charge from the very first kick. Soca style rhythms influence Selecta through and through - a surefire selection for any DJ looking to keep the party going.

The title track, Civilize is a dramatic conclusion to this diverse and cultured release, which serves to highlight Fraher’s unique perspective and musical influences. With emotionally driven harmonies and symphonic overtones, the listener embraces a sentimental melody presented upon a sleek, deep break- step beat so masterfully blended, your existence melts away to a place of personal warmth and comfort.
